Our services


  • Meals available to seniors aged 70 and over, or 65 and over with medical a geriatric profile.
  • Home delivery from Monday to Thursday between 10:30 to 13:00.
  • All meals are freshly made and refrigerated; they need to be heated in the microwave.
  • The cost of a meal is $7.95 and includes an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert.
  • Meal orders are to be phoned in at the beginning of every month. Delivery routes are set according to sectors served to provide a more efficient service to our clients.
  • Clients are either billed by email or during delivery. It is possible to pay by credit or debit.
  • Clients have up to the Thursday of the preceding week to modify or cancel an order.
  • Delays may occur during registration if there is a waiting list.

For seniors aged 65 and over with a medical geriatric profile who cannot leave their home unassisted, and/or are in need of an escort

Medical Transportation/Escort Services

  • transportation and/or escort services of last resort to medical appointments

Community Transportation/ Escort Services

  • transportation and/or escort services of last resort for personal errands at the supermarket, the pharmacy, clothing and accessory stores, the bank, shopping for personal effects, and others.
  • Clients pay a 0,52 per km roundtrip fee to cover the volunteer’s transportation costs from and to their home to render the required services to the client
  • The volunteer can accompany the client into the establishment and be available for assistance therein. This service is included in the transportation fee mentioned above.
  • In the case of an appointment or shopping excursion lasting four hours or more, the fees are doubled because the volunteer would return home in the interim.
  • In the event of a cancellation being made less than 48 hours in advance, a fee of $7,50 will be charged to the client.

A prevention program for people aged 65 years and over.

Program Description

  • involves home visits by a volunteer and a representative of the police force and fire department in order to:
    • prevent falls, house fires, and fraud
    • conduct a home inspection to ensure a healthy and safe environment
  • free kit provided: contains information on available resources for the elderly as well as various security items
  • Living healthfully and safely in one’s home is possible!
  • eligibility criteria and requirements: aged 65 years and over; the client provides their approval of the visit and resides in the MRC Thérèse-de-Blainville

65 years and over, travel expenses to be paid by user.

Home maintenance services

Description

Users must provide the materials needed for the work and pay the volunteer’s travel expenses (0.52/km) for the trips required for the service.

The service is offered according to volunteer availability and skills.

Procedure

Requests are made by telephone to CABSB. The volunteer will contact the user directly to set up the appointment.

Examples of small jobs that can be done:

  • fitting a light;
  • changing a light switch;
  • fitting objects (frame, mirror, hook, shelf);
  • repairing a leaky faucet;
  • assembling a piece of furniture;
  • minor painting: small furniture, shelving, etc.

*We do not provide moving assistance, housekeeping or safety bar installation, or work requiring a professional (plumbing, electricity, etc.).

Are you 65 years and over and in need of free income tax filing assistance?

Le Centre d’Action Bénévole Solange-Beauchamp provides free income tax filing services for the year 2022.

Eligibility to Obtain this Service:

  • maximum income of $35 000 for a single person and $1000 in investments (interest, dividends)
  • maximum income of $45 000 for a couple and $1000 in investments (interest, dividends)
  • to be at least 65 years old as of December 31, 2022 (year of birth 1957 or earlier)
  • to not have been bankrupt in the last two years
  • to be a resident of the MRC Thérèse-De Blainville

NB: Income tax returns cannot be completed for the deceased.

Telephone registrations from Feburary 6th.

Deposit of envelopes from march 6th, Monday to Thursday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  • eligibility criteria: aged 65 years and over; experiencing vulnerability and/or insecurity

  • counselling services to promote the reflection and analysis of whether to move out of one’s home, and/or assistance in making one’s home safe and accessible in the short or long term.
  • eligibility criteria: aged 65 years and over

For seniors aged 65 and over who are isolated and/or have limited social networks.

A volunteer develops a relationship with a senior to enhance their social connectedness and prevent their isolation.

What do these visits and telephone calls entail?

  • a sharing and listening service where the goal is to create social connections and friendships, and prevent the isolation and solitude of seniors
  • a service whereby a trusting and friendly relationship is established with a volunteer
  • one-to-three-hour weekly or bimonthly visits
  • approximately 30-minute social telephone calls on a weekly basis
  • outings can be made if each party agrees and can include car rides, taking walks outdoors, visiting a park, eating out at a restaurant, visiting a museum, going to the movies, and more; both the customer and the volunteer pay for themselves.

Home Visits and Companionship

  • services include home visits by our volunteers to enhance social connectedness and prevent isolation
  • eligibility criteria: aged 65 years and over; living in isolation or having limited social networks (eligibility to be determined after an evaluation conducted by the CAB)

  • Services are geared towards seniors aged 65 years and over, or those with a medical geriatric profile.
  • Clients are required to provide the necessary materials to complete the requisite work and pay a fee (0,52/km) for the volunteer’s transportation to the site.
  • The availability of services is determined by the skills and qualifications of our volunteers.
  • Requests for home-maintenance services are to be made by telephone (to the CABSB). The volunteer will contact the client to schedule their visit.
  • Services include changing lightbulbs, replacing switches, hanging various objects (frames, mirrors, hooks, shelves, etc.), repairing leaking faucets, the assemblage of furniture, and minor paint jobs (of small pieces of furniture, shelves, etc.).

*We do not provide assistance with home relocation, housekeeping services, the installation of safety bars, or tasks necessitating the work of a qualified professional (e.g., plumbing, electrical services).

For senior residents of the MRC Thérèse-de-Blainville.

The CABSB, an organization that has been dedicated to the wellbeing of senior citizens for the past 40 years, is inviting the population to participate in its third caring and sharing tree.  

The aim of this activity is to provide a senior who is socially isolated with a warm and friendly visit during the holiday season. This is a pleasant experience for both singles or people living with their families! 

They have always been there for us; now it’s our turn to be there for them. 

Registration begins on October 1.
